FOREMOST FOLIAGE ANNOUNCES NEW NAME, PRODUCT LINES
MIAMI, June 8, 1998--ForemostCo,
formerly Foremost Foliage, Inc., announced the expansion of
its product lines, which will now include landscape, ornamentals
and flowering products. The name change is representative
of the firm’s growing product lines, client services
and expanding its partnerships.
“We realize that our clients need greater variety of
products, consistent quality control, and nimble and effective
logistics management. We continuously revamp our operations
to meet the increasing global competition. Hence our new name,”
says Joseph Roberts, ForemostCo president.
ForemostCo has entered into a strategic partnership with
the German-based Dümmen USA, to market that firm’s
Red Fox line of Poinsettias, Geraniums, New Guinea Impatiens
and Trailing Petunias. Red Fox products hold a commanding
position in the European market today, and are being well
received in The US and Canada.
ForemostCo is also introducing a number of new proprietary
varieties including
Spath Cupido? and other varieties of Spathiphyllum in conjunction
with the Dutch-based KP Holland; as well as the Dibley’s
Series of Streptocarpus from the Welsh firm Dibley’s,
the global leader in Streptocarpus breeding.
These new partnerships give ForemostCo the resources to expand
its scope of services to the nursery industry by providing
quality product developed to provide growers with higher profit
margins in an increasingly competitive marketplace. “Our
customers are looking for higher performance product lines
with better profit margins. Global competition is about being
on the cutting edge at all times, and we recognize that ForemostCo’s
role is to be on the vanguard of product and logistics developments
to consistently provide the best profit making product in
the most rapid and effective manner. We need to stay ahead
of the competition so that our customers will always be ahead
of their competition,” says Roberts.
Foremost Foliage, founded in 1987, has been a leading supplier
of tropical foliage starter material to the nursery industry
throughout the United States and Canada. Foremost began as
a distributor of foliage cuttings and liners. By investing
extensively in Central American farms, Foremost has been able
to solidify its ability to supply a wide variety of high quality
product.
A joint venture with Phoenix Foliage, a liner producing facility
in Central Florida, and working closely with laboratories
in Malaysia, China, Ireland and South Africa, allowed Foremost
to develop a line of high quality tissue cultured product.
This initiative consolidated Foremost’s position as
an innovative supplier of high quality, cost effective tissue
culture propagative material.
Recognizing the evolution of their Company, the products
and services they now offer, and its expanding Customer base,
lead the management of Foremost Foliage to seek a name change
that reflected this broader scope.
